“Healing happens when we get curious about the way we hold our pain, rather than focusing on the pain itself.”

FAQS
What is Somatic Breathwork?
The word "somatic" comes from the Greek word soma, meaning "body." It’s all about the connection between your body and your mind. Today, "somatic" describes practices that help you tune into your body to better understand, heal, and transform yourself.
Somatic Breathwork is a powerful practice that uses intentional breath patterns to release tension, stress and stored emotions from your body. By focusing on the breath, we can tap into where trauma or discomfort might be stuck, creating space for healing and transformation. It's an empowering way to connect with your mind and body, opening the door to deep release and emotional freedom.
How is this different than traditional meditation?
While traditional meditation often emphasizes stillness, mindfulness, or focused concentration, Somatic Breathwork invites you to engage with your body and breathe actively. It’s a more dynamic process that helps you release physical and emotional tension in real time, allowing your body to express what your mind might not know. In meditation, you may sit in quiet observation; in breathwork, we use the breath to connect, release, and heal.
How do I need to prepare?
Preparing for a session is about creating a space where you can be open and comfortable. Arrive with an open heart, a willingness to listen to your body, and a desire to nurture yourself. If you're doing the session online, just ensure a quiet and peaceful space. I recommend arriving a little early to settle in if you're attending in person.
What should I wear?
Wear something that feels comfortable and allows you to move freely. There’s no need for anything fancy—just clothes that will help you feel relaxed and at ease. If you have jewelry on, feel free to remove it so your body can fully relax and release it without any distractions.
What should I bring?
Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated—your body will thank you! A notebook and pen can be helpful if you'd like to journal or reflect afterward, but they’re optional. I’ll have everything you need, including cozy yoga blankets and bolsters, to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
Will we have time to talk before or after the session?
Absolutely! I believe in holding space for both reflection and connection. You’ll have time before and after the session to chat, ask any questions, or sit in quiet contemplation. If you'd prefer to journal or connect with yourself, that’s perfectly fine, too. It’s all about what feels best for you in the moment.
Are these sessions refundable?
Sessions are non-refundable at this time, but if you need to reschedule, we can credit your payment toward a future session. My goal is to ensure you have the opportunity to fully experience the benefits, so we can always work together to find a solution that suits your needs.
Is there follow-up support?
Yes, I’m here for you! I’ll reach out within 24 hours after your session to check in and see how you're feeling. However, you're always welcome to contact me anytime, before or after, if you need additional support, have questions, or want to share your experience. I’m here to guide you and hold space for your journey. Please Note: While I offer a loving, supportive environment for healing, I am not a licensed health or mental health professional. I encourage you to consult your doctor to ensure that Somatic Breathwork is a good fit for you, especially if you have health concerns.
What can I expect during an emotional release, and what might it look like?
In my time practicing Somatic Breathwork, I’ve witnessed and personally experienced a wide range of emotional and physical expressions. Some common examples include:
Crying
Laughing
Dancing or swaying
Worship or prayer-like movements
Shaking or trembling as the body releases stored tension
Moving anger through punching pillows or screaming (pillows will be provided if needed)
Yelling or vocalizing emotions
Verbal expressions
Silence or stillness as the body processes
Spontaneous body movements like stretching, twisting, or reaching
A sense of euphoria, lightness, or deep peace
Each expression is unique, valuable, welcomed, and honored. There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to experience emotional release, and this space is here to support whatever arises for you.
What if I don't have an expressive release during the session?
That’s perfectly okay! Each session is unique; sometimes, the body releases emotions or tension in surprising ways. You may feel deep relaxation, clarity, or even an unexpected shift without a dramatic release. The most important thing is to trust yourself, honor your process, and know that every session is a step forward in your healing journey.
What will the practitioner be doing during the sessions?
My role is to guide you through this process in a loving, non-judgmental space. During our session, my support may include:
Verbal cues to guide your breath and focus
Breathing techniques to help you connect deeply with your body
Affirmations to nurture and empower your experience
Trauma-informed touch (only if you're comfortable and with prior consent)
We’ll discuss everything beforehand so you feel safe, heard, and supported at every step. I aim to hold space for you and your Somatic Breathwork journey as your empathetic witness.
Is there a waiver?
Yes, you must sign a release form at the end of the booking page. It’s a simple form that ensures you’re aware of the nature of the session and gives your consent to participate. I’m here to make sure you feel fully informed and at ease.
Do you do breathwork with kids?
I currently offer sessions for adults only. All participants must be 18 years or older.
Do you offer childcare?
I currently do not provide childcare services. To help you fully embrace your somatic experience, I kindly ask that children remain at home. This allows us to create an uninterrupted and distraction-free space where you can focus entirely on your journey. Thank you for understanding!
