What is Somatic breathwork?
Somatic Breathwork harnesses the power of your breath and body to unlock trapped emotions and energy. "Somatic," from the Greek word "soma," meaning ‘body,’ bridges the mind, body, and emotions. Through trauma-informed guidance and focused breathwork, I guide you to release what’s holding you back and tap into your true power and potential.
What to Expect
All in-person sessions take place in a private, peaceful space specially curated with your emotional and physical safety in mind. This full 90-minute experience gives you the time and comfort to unwind and express yourself fully. With cozy blankets and supportive cushions, you’ll feel safe and held throughout, allowing you to reconnect with your body and share whatever arises in a sacred and nonjudgmental environment.
1. Connect & Ground: We’ll begin by ensuring you feel comfortable. Then, through simple breath awareness exercises, we’ll attune to your body’s natural rhythm, helping you settle into the space and prepare for the journey ahead.
2. Awaken & Release: We’ll dive into guided and intentional energizing breath cycles designed to release tension and bring any emotions or energy to the surface. Whatever arises—anger, sadness, joy, frustration, stress, sorrow, resentment, resistance—is all welcome. This space is here for your expression in whatever form feels right. Follow your body. I’m here to guide and support you as you release and transform.
3. Calm & Integrate: After three awakening cycles, we’ll shift to slower, calming breaths to help your nervous system reset. This phase allows for deep relaxation and integrating what has been released, bringing balance and peace.
4. Reflect & Reconnect: At the end of the session, we’ll take time to reflect on your experience. There’s no rush—this is a time for you to process insights, emotions, or sensations. I’ll hold space for you, ensuring that you feel grounded and supported as you reconnect with yourself.
Co-Regulation: With You Every Step of the Way
Co-regulation is an essential part of your journey. I’ll be here with gentle words, a calming touch, and a steady presence, creating a safe environment for you to release and restore.
Words: Affirming cues like “You’re safe” and “Trust your body” will empower and guide you through the experience.
Touch: With your prior consent, I may offer nurturing physical touch—such as placing a hand on your shoulder, gently stroking your hair during an emotional release, or providing comforting support with gentle rocking. All touch is trauma-informed and designed to help you feel grounded, supported, and seen.
Presence: I will be present the entire duration, both emotionally and physically, ensuring you feel held throughout the process. This is your time—you are in control, and we can adjust any part of the experience, including touch, at any point.
All co-regulation techniques will be discussed prior to the session. You will be fully loved, supported, heard, seen, and honored as you move through your Somatic journey of release and transformation in an open, accepting, and compassionate space.
